Vegan panna cotta with agar-agar

Traditionally made with gelatine sheets, panna cotta is a dessert from Italy (basically means “cooked cream”). Replacing cow’s milk with almond milk and coconut cream, and using agar-agar as gellant, panna cotta becomes accessible to vegan people.

Serve your panna cotta with a red berries coulis, it will make a delicious and elegant dessert.

Recipe

Put almond milk, coconut cream and agar-agar in a saucepan. Bring it all to a boil and whisk for 30 seconds. Pour this cream into glasses (verrines) and put them in the fridge for at least 4 hours (for best result, you can prepare your panna cotta one day earlier).

When serving your panna cotta, add red berries coulis. You can also decorate your verrines with fresh fruits (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, mint…)
