INGREDIENTS

4 ripe bananas

250g flour

130g brown sugar

2 packets of intensely vanilla sugar

150g melted semi-salted butter

3 eggs

1 packet of baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

50g dark chunks without cocoa

50g milk chunks without cocoa

Top tip

To prevent the chunks from sinking to the bottom, pour one-third of your mixture without chunks into your pan. Then cover with the rest of the mixture mixed with the chunks.

Recipe

Let's get baking!

  1. Melt the butter, then let it cool (this is important, otherwise it will cook your eggs when you mix them together).

  2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the brown sugar and a packet of intense vanilla sugar until the mixture turns white and becomes frothy. Then pour in the melted butter and mix again.

  3. In a second bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Add this mixture to the previous mixture in several batches, mixing well to avoid lumps.

  4. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork, then stir them into the batter.

  5. Add the chocolate chunks to your mixture.

  6. Grease a cake pan and pour in the mixture. Sprinkle vanilla sugar on top.

  7. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350°F. Check to see if it’s done by inserting a knife blade: it should come out dry.
